Role of Hydrothermal Circulation along and above Inherited Basement Structures Relating to Unconformity-Related Uranium Mineralization

چکیده
The reactivation of inherited tectonic structures formed during the Paleoproterozoic Trans-Hudson Orogeny (THO) has played a significant role in generating high-grade unconformity-related uranium deposits eastern Athabasca Basin. these is now investigated through series two-dimensional hydrothermal numerical models. Two modelling scenarios are considered: (1) models THO peak metamorphism and (2) with permeable layer mimicking presence Basin, deposited unconformably over basement. In first scenario, general fluid patterns strongly affected by applied permeability configurations. Unidirectional high flow zones (from 10-9 to 10-8 m·s-1) thermal gradients (up 65°C·km-1) can be observed above within deep-seated structures. second well-established convection cells or unidirectional basin layer, upflow originating from core structures, regardless pressure regime. These results highlight that efficiently transport fluids heat towards upper parts crust basin. loci for preore alteration then evaluated computing rock index based on temperature velocity constraints. areas reside along potential regions structural mineralization. imply analysis combined regions, serve as markers exploration.

The Alligator Rivers Uranium Field (ARUF) includes the mined and unmined Jabiluka, Ranger, Koongarra and Nabarlek unconformity-related uranium deposits and several small prospects including the newly discovered King River prospect. Uranium mineralisation is hosted by a variety of metamorphosed Nimbuwah Domain lithologies that are unconformably overlain by the Kombolgie Subgroup, a basin package...

[1] We use coupled heat and mass transport models to investigate the basement permeability distribution and hydrothermal circulation patterns in an area with large basement relief below flat seafloor on the eastern flank of the Juan de Fuca Ridge. If heat transport around Ocean Drilling Program Sites 1026 and 1027 were purely conductive, the top of basement at Site 1027 (below 600 m of sediment...
